A week of scattered work before anyone sees a layout.

Manual GIS & setbacks

Days of parcel and constraint work before a layout even starts.

Layout iterations in CAD

Row packing and stringing rebuilt by hand when the boundary or pitch changes.

Edge strings found late

Wind-exposed strings spotted in review — after structural and electrical work has begun.

Disconnected files

Terrain, layout, yield, and economics live in separate tools with no shared project context.

PVMath does not replace engineers. It reduces wasted pre-engineering effort so AutoCAD and PVsyst hours only go to sites worth building.

Before PVMath / After PVMath

Same site. Far less scattered work before the engineering decision.

Before PVMath

  • Site received
  • Manual GIS analysis
  • Manual terrain processing
  • Manual layout iterations
  • Separate yield calculation
  • Separate financial modeling
  • Multiple disconnected files

After PVMath

  • Upload site (boundary or KML/KMZ)
  • Automated feasibility screening
  • Automated terrain understanding
  • Optimized layout, generated
  • Yield, run off the layout
  • Revenue/economics, same project
  • One unified engineering report

Hours

Same site decision — far less scattered pre-engineering time.

Screening-grade pre-engineering — not a substitute for bankable yield, LiDAR, or stamped detail design.

How it works.

One project setup feeds every step. Each result carries into the next.

Step-by-step workflow
Step 1 — Project Setup
One login · one project context

Name the project, set the country, and place the site once. Every step inherits the same project — no re-entry.

Upload KML / KMZ Import a parcel polygon — unlocks TerrainIQ, LayoutIQ, YieldIQ & RevenueIQ
SiteIQ — Site Screening
Step 2 · Solar · flood · regulatory · buildable area

Screen solar resource, flood risk and grid proximity, then map buildable area with automatic GIS setbacks from roads, rivers, buildings and more.

TerrainIQ — Slope Analysis
Step 3 · Needs a boundary · CAD exports

Region-routed DEM inside your boundary — slope heatmaps, cross-row grades and engineering verdicts before you order a topo survey.

LayoutIQ — Auto Layout
Step 4 · Layout + electrical

Pick Fixed Tilt or tracker, auto-pack rows with GIS setbacks, then size strings and cables — A1 electrical drawing and PVsyst export in the project package (paid plans).

YieldIQ — Yield Estimation
Step 5 · Auto-runs from your layout

PVGIS yield for your chosen LayoutIQ mount — Fixed 1P–4P or SAT 1P/2P. Runs automatically when you proceed, no re-entry.

RevenueIQ — Economic Screening
Step 6 · Uses LayoutIQ capacity & YieldIQ energy

CAPEX bands, tariff revenue, OPEX, LCOE, IRR, NPV, and payback from your layout and yield — country-aware auction/PPA modes and Agri-PV adjustments.

I/E wind-exposure flags

90%+ geometric screening accuracy — flags structural risk before it reaches your structural engineer.

Unified engineering report

PDF + project ZIP in the format teams already exchange with clients and lenders.

Screening-grade only. Not bankable yield, not LiDAR, not stamped civil or structural design. Confirm with survey and detail engineering before FEED.

Common questions from engineers.

SiteIQ through RevenueIQ — screening, layout, yield, economics, and one unified report.

What does the seven-step workflow cover?

Project setup → SiteIQ → TerrainIQ → LayoutIQ → YieldIQ → RevenueIQ → unified PDF + project ZIP (paid plans). One boundary, one credit at the LayoutIQ sweep — TerrainIQ, YieldIQ, and RevenueIQ on the same project do not use extra credits.

Is this a bankable study or a substitute for PVsyst / DNV / Aurora?

No. Pre-feasibility go/no-go only. YieldIQ is ±8–15% vs. bankable yield. RevenueIQ uses indicative CAPEX and tariff bands — not investment advice. TerrainIQ uses public DEM, not LiDAR. LayoutIQ is a screening layout, not construction-ready detail design.

What does LayoutIQ produce?

Pitch/GCR sweep, DC capacity, and BOM for fixed tilt (1P–4P) or single-axis tracker (1P/2P). GIS setbacks, 3D terrain preview, layout DXF, optional A1 electrical drawing, and PVsyst export. Confirm module spec and run detail design before tender.

What does RevenueIQ show?

Ten-line CAPEX breakdown, tariff revenue bands, OPEX, LCOE, IRR, NPV, payback, and sensitivity — country-aware auction/PPA modes. Feeds the PVMath site score. Screening only; engage a financial advisor before financial close.

Can I use TerrainIQ exports in CAD?

Yes — for early layout. UTM LandXML surface and georeferenced DXF contours from your boundary. Public DEM screening grade — commission LiDAR before FEED and pile design.

What is in the Step 7 report?

Professional+ only: one PDF with all modules, PVMath site rating, and grouped next steps. Project ZIP includes layout DXF, terrain LandXML, BOM CSV, A1 layout sheet, and unified screening PDF.

How is the PVMath score calculated?

A weighted composite (0–100) from module factor scores: grid/regulatory, terrain, energy yield, land use, flood risk, and solar resource. With RevenueIQ, economic viability adds a seventh factor (~20%). Challenging terrain can cap the overall score. Verdict bands run Excellent ≥90 through Critical <45 — see the score breakdown table in your report.

Who is PVMath built for?

Solar EPCs, developers, and engineering firms screening utility-scale ground mount worldwide. Fixed tilt and tracker, standard and Agri-PV.
